We’re excited to share that our ‘Kitcheneers’ brand recently won the coveted Silver Award at the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards.

Highly regarded by design teams and design commissioners, a DBA Design Effectiveness Award is one of the most rewarding design accolades that celebrates and champions effective design. It also recognises design’s integral role in transforming businesses, improving societies, and enhancing people’s lives.

This award recognises our passion and commitment to reinforcing healthy eating of secondary school pupils through school catering.

‘The Kitcheneers’ was developed with a vision to bring fresh, nutritious, and customisable food options to schools across the UK, reimagining school meals in a manner that speaks directly to the needs and evolving preferences of a new generation of pupils within the Gen Z and Gen Alpha generations.

‘The Kitcheneers’ is about choice and experimentation – a ‘modular’ approach enabling pupils to personalise dishes according to taste, allergies, and beliefs. Such an approach has inspired everything from name, identity, and tone of voice,e and the nutritious, customisable food offer and scalable brand asset kit is easy and eye-catchingly transforming catering spaces.

The brand has delivered transformative results with a 9.3% increase in free school meal uptake and has also contributed to better student nutrition and engagement. Additionally, the number of vegetables served has increased by 35%, reflecting the initiative’s core mission to promote healthier eating habits.

The DBA award recognises our commitment to purposeful innovation in times of challenges while fostering healthy futures for the next generation.

The award inspires us to continue setting the standard for nutrition in schools and positioning AiP as a leader in the school catering space, committed to delivering innovative solutions for schools across the UK.
